THE landowner at the centre of a footpath row in Kingsley spoke this week about why he decided to temporarily close a public right of way.

The Bordon Herald reported the dispute when a group of defiant residents decided to hold a protest walk along Kingsley's Footpath 20, which runs off Sickles Lane, angry that the route had been blocked.

But landowner Rory McCarthy told the Bordon Herald this week that he closed the path after becoming a victim of vandalism that had made the route a health hazard.
