THE “selfless, caring people” of Whitehill and Bordon who are willing to give up their family celebrations on Christmas Day to volunteer have been thanked.

It comes as a free lunch and entertainment for people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day will be held in Whitehill Village Hall from 11.30am until 4pm.

Funded by district and county councillor Adam Carew’s councillors’ budget, the £500 grant will pay for a full Christmas dinner for “at least 40 people and 40 volunteers”, as well as kitchen equipment so it can be held again next year.
