Award-winning bakers Turner’s Pies are excitedly poised to open their doors for business in a brand-new shop in Petersfield – and will have the mayoral seal of approval come the grand opening.

Town mayor Peter Clist, alongside deputy mayor, Cllr JC Crissey, will be on hand to cut the ribbon at the Rams Walk store on Saturday as the popular pie-makers make their first foray into Hampshire.

Turner’s Pies was established in Bognor Regis in the 1930s and has gone on to open shops in Chichester, Worthing and Rustington.

The highly-rated master bakers have won a whole host of awards at the prestigious British pie awards over the years – their steak and stilton pie, a former supreme champion, won in two categories at this year’s festival. And they hit the headlines in 2019 when the company got an order for pies to be delivered to Buckingham Palace!

And back in 2013, the business had the honour of being named in the guild of fine foods top 50 foods in the UK, which led to Harrods of Knightsbridge choosing to stock Turner’s Pies in their world-famous food halls.

Now the flourishing business is coming to Petersfield and delighted managing director Phil Turner wants to mark the occasion with a special offer – a FREE sausage roll for every reader.

Simply cut out the voucher printed in this week’s Herald and Petersfield Post and take it along to Turner’s Pies, Rams Walk, Petersfield once open and exchange it for a sausage roll. Vouchers must be an original, no photocopies are permitted.

Phil said: “We are really excited to open our new shop in Petersfield and have been pleasantly surprised with the welcome we have already received from the town’s folk as we have gone about preparing the premises for our opening.

“Petersfield is such a fabulous market town and we always had a hope we would like to open a shop there –and now we are doing so we really couldn’t be any more delighted.

“In essence, we are a traditional family-run baker specialising in quality hand-made pies and our award-winning products are baked daily, from scratch using only the finest ingredients.

“We work hard to maintain our tradition of quality and continue to produce some of the best meat pies – as well as vegetarian and vegan options – in the country.

“Ours are no-nonsense, good old-fashioned favourites, done the right way for the whole family to enjoy.

“Our team is really looking forward to meeting everyone and our hope is we can quickly become a firm fixture within the community, much like we are in Bognor, Chichester, Worthing and Rustington.

“We’d love to see as many people as possible when we open our doors on Saturday.”
