A BORDON mother is "over the moon" that a memorial to her son has been completed at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

Ann Bartlett launched the Kyle Bartlett Memorial Fund following the death of her son in 2009, after a brawl on a night out in Portsmouth.

At the time of his death, former Mill Chase school pupil Mr Bartlett was a Royal Navy marine engineer aboard HMS Liverpool. It is thought that a single blow caused a fatal brain injury. Later four Royal Marines were cleared of all charges relating to the incident.

Now, one of the "first main goals" of Mrs Bartlett's charity fundraising is complete, with the renovation of the Giant's Chair at the country park near Petersfield.
