A TEENAGE girl died at the Boomtown music festival last weekend - the fourth death in six years at the annual event at the Matterley Bowl near Winchester.

At around midday on Monday paramedics were called to a tent to treat the unconscious 18 year old, from Buckinghamshire, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The death followed last Friday’s blaze at the festival, which destroyed 80 cars and was believed to have been started by a dropped cigarette, igniting grass stubble.

Over the past few years the festival has attracted controversy because of people dying after taking drugs, including in 2014 when a mother was found hanged in a portaloo after taking illegal drugs.
