PLANS to tender a new town bus service for Whitehill and Bordon were given the go ahead this week.

The bus service would be based in the town and would replace an existing taxi-share scheme, continuing to serve the main destinations and residential areas of the town and expanding the area covered.

Following public consultations, three proposed options were whittled down to a favourite.

This would not only provide additional accessibility through Whitehill, Bordon, Lindford and Standford, but would also provide additional links to Blackmoor, Greatham and Longmoor.

Consultees also expressed a need for suitable links to other destinations such as Petersfield, Alton and Liphook.
