THE application to build nine flats in Bordon's Heathcote Road was given the go ahead by East Hampshire District Council last week.

The proposal to build the flats on the semi-derelict site met early criticism from Whitehill Town Council, but district council planners voted nine to two in favour of the development last Thursday.

The Southampton-based Swaythling Housing Society hopes to replace the three existing buildings on the land close to Bordon library with nine one and two-bedroom flats.
