WHITEHILL Town Council agreed funds for a number of organisations from the area this week, in the second round of its minor grant-giving process for 2015-2016.

On Monday evening councillors awarded £500 to the 1st Bordon Scouts toward the cost of camping equipment, £500 to the Air Training Corps 2412 Squadron (Bordon and district) toward new sports equipment, £275 to the parish of All Saints Church, Headley, toward the upkeep of the grounds, and £708 to Revitalise Respite Holidays to provide holidays for two Whitehill and Bordon residents.

They also gave £500 to Whitehill village hall toward electrical works in the entrance hall and £500 to the Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership toward activities for a Queen’s 90th birthday picnic in June 2016, with the condition that the town council is acknowledged as a joint funder with its logo on promotional material.

But some applications were less successful, with no grant awarded to Bordon Nordoff Robbins Charity (music therapy), on the basis that the application “did not comply with the council’s grant aid policy”.
