Dogs for Autism, an Alton-based national charity providing free assistance dogs for autistic people in the UK, has received £180.13 raised at Vicky’s Hallowe’en Garden.

For 15 years Vicky Cox and her daughter Megan Metcalfe have decorated their home and garden in Victoria Road, Alton, for Hallowe’en to raise money for charity. More than 200 people enjoyed ghostly displays and family-friendly trick or treating.

Before the sun set the Dogs for Autism team dropped in with assistance dogs Daisy, Archie and Milo to meet Megan, her daughter Evelyn and her nephew. They were greeted by a skeleton biker astride an Enfield motorcycle on the front drive.

Megan said: “It was great to meet some of the representatives and assistance dogs from the charity. We had a great evening and managed to dodge most of the rain!”

Dogs for Autism has featured twice on BBC1’s Countryfile as part of the Children in Need Ramble Appeal.
