Love Haslemere Hate Waste collected Christmas jumpers for Haslemere food bank at its “jolly” Christmas repair café.

Mince pies were also served to people who had items in need of repair.

Volunteer repairers received items including a set of bike handlebars with malfunctioning brakes.

Repairer David Hutcheson worked on the handlebars, which had a frozen brake cable. David showed the customer the issue, before removing the faulty cable. Repairers also took on a leaf blower with an electrical fault, torn clothing, and an umbrella with broken spokes which had been jumped on by the owner’s grandchildren.

Electrical items returned to their homes for Christmas included a touch lamp, a sewing machine, and a dehumidifier which repairer Helen Cussen had fixed.

People also donated Christmas jumpers for Haslemere food bank.

Love Haslemere Hate Waste founder Victoria Page said: “The atmosphere was really jolly this month, especially as we received a bumper donation of Christmas jumpers for the food bank.”

The Christmas repair café was the last session at Haslemere Town Hall.

In January, the repair café is moving to The Swan pub on Haslemere High Street. Repairers will be there on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 1pm.

The first repair café of 2023 will be held on Saturday, January 7. To make a donation, visit www.justgiving.com/lovehaslemere-hatewaste
