Dates have been set for the next Alton Neighbourhood Plan engagement sessions.

To have your say on how the town is to develop over coming years, visit the Assembly Rooms on Friday, September 8 from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday, September 9 from 10am to 1pm.

The plan’s steering group is currently developing a Local Design Code, to help shape the design of buildings, public spaces, streets and neighbourhoods in the area.

It comes after many people commented at the last drop-in sessions in May that good design was extremely important for any new housing in Alton.

This was the first public exhibition held by the Alton Neighbourhood Plan steering group, and attracted more than 300 visitors over two days resulting in exhibition boards being smothered with hundreds of yellow PostIt notes with feedback and ideas.

The current Alton Neighbourhood Plan dates from 2016 and will be deemed out-of-date in November.
