THE HERALD treated the town’s Covid vaccine heroes to coffees and a hamper of festive goodies in the days before Christmas as a small token of gratitude to the largely volunteer-run service.

The Farnham Hospital-based jab clinic celebrated its first anniversary on December 19, having delivered some 80,000 vaccines to more than 30,000 people over the past 12 months, making it one of the most efficient GP-run Covid vaccine providers in the UK.

And in the run-up to Christmas, the service doubled its efforts, operating 12 hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure everyone aged 18 and over in the town was offered a booster jab before December 25.

In recognition of these efforts, the Herald teamed up with Hoxtons Bakehouse in West Street and Waitrose in Lion & Lamb Yard to treat the service’s band of NHS workers, both current and retired, and volunteer marshals on Wednesday, December 22.

Hoxton gifted hot drinks and cinnamon buns, while Waitrose donated a hamper of pastries and mince pies.

The Herald would like to thank all those who have contributed to the town’s vaccination efforts over the past year, as well as Hoxton and Waitrose for their generous donations.
