LIPHOOK’S Carnival Committee is asking keen walkers to “get lost” in the nicest possible way, by joining them on a journey into the local countryside.

Organiser Rob Harris Dibben said: “It is a great way of blowing away the cobwebs, revitalising your senses and discovering the natural landscapes on your very own doorstep.

“Not only that, you will also be doing your bit to raise money to support the Liphook Carnival.

“So whatever you’re doing - make a date in the diary to pull on your outdoor kit and grab your dog (if you have one) and get ready to ramble!”

There are three circular routes to choose from, approximately 4.5, nine and 10 miles, which all start and finish at The Deer’s Hut Pub, at Longmoor Road, Griggs Green.

Walks start at 9.45am on Sunday, September 11. Registration will open at 9am in the pavilion at the back of the pub.

Entry is £6 per adult and £3 for under 16s or it is free if the sponsored amount is more than the entry fee and for under six year olds.

There is an added incentive to get sponsorship with a prize for the highest sponsorship obtained which will be announced on the day. Sponsorship forms can be obtained by calling Rob or Alison on (01428) 723331 or 07979 803805.

Bacon butties, tea and coffee will be available at The Deer’s Hut before the walk in exchange for a donation with all proceeds going to the Liphook Carnival, and lunches are available afterwards which should be booked in advance.

Stout walking boots are recommended to avoid injuries and dogs are very welcome. Last year an encouraging 40 walkers attended the event, raising more than £350.
