HISTORIAN John Smith took people back in time to learn about the Roman occupation of Britain.

Mr Smith, an expert on the Roman era, welcomed guests to Bordon library on March 1 when he demonstrated how a Roman soldier would have dressed and spoke about life during this period of history.

The day also offered visitors the chance to view an exhibition of Roman pottery and coins on display in the Woolmer Forest Heritage Society’s case in the library at the Forest Shopping Centre.
