A BOOK about the Basingstoke & Alton Light Railway has been reprinted for the first time since 1982.
Public services on the branch line between Basingstoke and Alton ended in September 1932 and a 52-page paperback on it was written and published in the late 1940s by Edward Griffith of Farnham, a photographer interested in railway history.
The line opened in June 1901 to serve Herriard, Cliddesden and Lasham, and it featured in the films The Wrecker and Oh! Mr Porter.
The reprinted book, priced £6.50, is available from Kingfisher Productions at www.railwayvideo.com
