WOOLMER Forest Heritage Society will be holding several events in Bordon over the next few weeks to which all are welcome.
On April 16, the subject will be D-Day and the preparations that were made in Bordon Garrison for that event on June 6, 1944.
Children can follow a Roman trail in Hogmoor Inclosure on February 20, using markers that can be seen throughout the area. This is being run in conjunction with the Deadwater Valley Trust.
The period known as pre-history - the Stone Age to the Iron Age - can be investigated in the Hogmoor Inclosure on April 15 from 11am until 3pm.
Examples of ancient crafts will be on display, and various pre-history activities will be available for both children and adults.
In conjunction with this event, the heritage display cabinet in Bordon Library has been changed to highlight artefacts from this period that were found in the area.
Heritage Explorer booklets will be available at all these events for children who wish to keep a record of their historical activities.
Woolmer Forest Heritage Society is also holding a coin workshop, for identification of money made after the Roman period, at The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre on March 2 at 10.30am.
Admission is free for members, and non-members pay £3. To book a place, call the society on 01420 472329.
