THE Portsmouth branch of Covers Timber and Builders Merchants is sponsoring Liphook and Ripsley Cricket Club.

Located at Ripsley Park, the club’s grounds are considered to be one of the best in the Hampshire league. It currently runs three Saturday league teams, a Sunday team and various midweek competitions.

The club’s first XI play in Division One of the Southern Premier Cricket League.

Rob Nicklin, social chairman at Liphook and Ripsley Cricket Club, said: “We would like to thank Covers for their generous support and for helping to ensure that we can successfully continue to operate the club at a competitive level.”

Dale Lambourne, Portsmouth depot manager at Covers, added: “As a firm we have a great love of sport and aim to support local teams in the area. We’re very proud to be sponsoring Liphook and Ripsley Cricket Club and hope that our funding will help the club continue to enjoy success.”
