FESTIVAL folk enjoyed music, food and other attractions at Headley’s Hyfest.

The annual event, at Headley playing fields on June 17, saw bands perform across two stages - all in support of Headley Youth Football Club.

The club’s Ian St John said the day was a great success and, despite what he called “scorching conditions”, more than 600 people came through the gate.

He added: “The day raised much-needed funds for the annual maintenance of the football pitches at Headley that are our pride and joy. We don’t generally specify amounts raised.

“The event saw the best line up of acts we’ve ever had, and we thank the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), in Guildford, for organising this, as well as all the sound and light equipment and management for both stages. It has proved again to be a great local fun day out for all the family, with music to suit all tastes.

“We would not be able to afford to put on this event without the help of our sponsors and equipment providers: ACM, Bordon Community Project, Clear Insurance Group, J R Luff & Co, Level 1 Scaffolding, Little Treasures Pre-School, Weyfest, the Winner Group and Wrights Lion Brewery.”
