AN appeal against East Hampshire District Council’s refusal to allow the building of four houses - following the demolition of Blacksmith’s Lodge, on Chase Road, Lindford - has been dismissed.

The application had been submitted by Carolina Wallace.

Inspector David Cliff said: “The proposed development would result in significant harm to the living conditions of neighbouring residents, and further harm could potentially arise in respect of protected species (bats), along with fairly limited harm in respect of highway safety.”
