DELICIOUS international cuisine is promised at an urban street market at Bordon’s Prince Philip Barracks tomorrow, from 3pm until late.
The urban street market will take place at the barracks’ Parade Ground, off Budds Lane.
There will be music and dancing, along with five food areas offering Mexican tacos and burritos, Italian pasta and bruschetta, Indian specialities, Brazilian churros, and Polish stew and smoked sausage.
The music will include acoustic jazz and soul with Jennifer Giles, 3.15pm to 4.45pm; upbeat acoustic pop with Rachel Rose, 5.15pm to 6.45pm, and upbeat eclectic acoustic covers by the Lone Pepper Duo at 7.15pm and 8.45pm.
Organiser the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, which is developing the barracks, has teamed up with another developer, housing group Radian, to put on the event for the community.
The Polish cuisine will be supplied by RKdia, part of Radian, formed to serve the community through providing catering and event services while helping young people to gain skills and experience in hospitality.
Naomi Metcalfe, community development officer at the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, said: “The urban street market will be a great afternoon out for those who want to try new foods from a range of nationalities and soak up the music and atmosphere. It is great to be partnering with Radian on the event and we will be looking to arrange another urban street market later in the year.”
Entry into the urban street market is £2.50 per person.
