BORDON pensioner Jackie Bell has, at age 82, become one of the oldest people to abseil down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower.
Ms Bell, a member of Bordon’s Walking for Health Group, raised £400 for the Parkinson’s UK charity, which is close to her heart because she suffers from the condition.
Fellow walking group member Carol Anne Dann described her friend’s April abseil as “a brilliant achievement” that deserved recognition.
The oldest person to have abseiled down the tower, which is 170 metres high, is Doris Long, who was 101 when she achieved the feat last year.
