STAFF at the Kingsley Centre are celebrating a year of achievement, which has seen a £135,000 transformation of the building and the creation of an outside seating area.

Also, newly installed photovoltaic panels, which generate electricity, have cut the community building's heating bills by £10,000 a year.

Staff hope to buy more panels.

Sources of funding include grants from East Hampshire District Council, Hampshire County Council, Kingsley Parish Council, the Bernard Sunley Foundation, the Big Lottery Fund, the ACT Foundation, in-house fundraising events, and a £20,000 award from the Veolia Environmental Trust made through the Landfill Communities Fund.
