'THE village does not support us' was one of the reasons former parish councillor Elwyn Evans and his wife Delma cited for closing Greatham Post Office and shop at the end of the month after trying to sell their "thriving business" for three years so they can retire.
Mr Evans, who comes from Wales, said the business was thriving "because we rely on passing trade, even with the postal business which increased when the post offices in Passfield and Whitehill closed".
