LAURA McBrown, the managing director of G&B Electronic Design in Woolmer Way, Bordon, has won a regional business accolade at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2017.
Ms McBrown won the leadership award, sponsored by the Liberty House Group in London, which celebrates the achievements of “outstanding manufacturing leaders” and the contribution they make to their business and UK manufacturing at large.
Up against stiff competition from a range of businesses, Ms McBrown was selected by a panel of judges, drawn from company directors, industry experts and academics.
The judges were impressed by her clear vision and the values that had transformed the culture of the business since she had become managing director.
With the regional title secured, Ms McBrown will go on to the national-awards gala dinner in London in January.
“Manufacturers work hard to ensure the success of their business, so I am honoured to have been recognised in this way,” she said. “This award is not about individual effort though, it is for the hard-working and talented team that I work with, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.
“It’s fantastic to be recognised by my peers in this way and I’m really looking forward to the national finals in January to see how I measure up against leaders from across the rest of the UK.”
Douglas Dawson, chief executive officer of Liberty Industries Group, said: “Strong and dynamic leadership pushes companies to take advantage of opportunities and towards greater efficiency and productivity for the entire business.”
