IT is the 90th anniversary year of the founding of The Royal British Legion and the Bordon branch's service, at Bordon War Memorial last Friday, saw its largest ever turnout.

Crowds gathered by the memorial next to the A325. On a misty morning, Bordon Garrison soldiers, children, mothers with pushchairs, clergy, old soldiers wearing their medals, councillors, Scouts, residents and those who had lost loved ones in war all came together to remember and pay their respects.

The service was attended by more than 300 people, all wearing poppies and standing shoulder to shoulder to remember the fallen and those still fighting in Afghanistan.
