THOSE dreaming of a white Christmas fair this weekend are in luck.

The Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership has guaranteed the most festive scenes at the town’s annual Christmas fair on Saturday, and has even forecast snow.

Visitors can try snowboarding on an inflatable snow scene, which will be made more realistic by a snow machine hired for the event.

The popular Miller’s Ark Farm, from Hook, will be there with animals to pet, while Santa will roam the site handing out presents donated by the Country Market.

The Country Market, near Bordon, has donated a Christmas tree to light up the performance space in front of the Forest Community Centre throughout the festive period.

Refreshments will be served inside the community centre and the Headley Scouts will return with their barbecue.

Many Bordon schools are hosting stalls and Tesco is once again supporting the event.

The Deadwater Valley Trust is offering outdoor craft activities and the Conde Link Town Twinning Association will be raising money with a sweet tombola.

On the stage, The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre has co-ordinated a programme of community performances.

The Phoenix Theatre, in Bordon, has arranged performances by the Phoenix Cheerleaders, the Phoenix Choir, Young at Heart Dance, the Mill Chase Choir, the Phoenix Players Panto and The Mantic Muddlers.

Inside the Forest Community Centre will be a craft fair, with opportunities to buy Christmas gifts.

St Mark’s Church, which is next to the centre, will host the Whitehill and Bordon Christmas Tree Festival. Organisations have been invited to decorate Christmas trees in a way which reflects the service they offer in the community.

The trees will be on display during the Christmas Fair and throughout a special service on Sunday. The festival has been organised jointly by Community First and St Mark’s Church.

“The secret of Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership’s success is in our name,” said chairman Curtis Bone. “We work in partnership with local organisations in the town to make events happen. We couldn’t stage the Christmas fair without the support of the Community Association, The Phoenix Theatre and all the other organisations which get involved. We also have many volunteers - local residents who give up their time to help out on the day.”

n The Whitehill and Bordon Christmas fair, organised by the Town Partnership, will take place on Saturday in and around the Forest Community Centre. The indoor craft fair starts at 10am and the outdoor activities run from 11am to 3pm.
