BORDON Library hosted a volunteer’s tea party on Tuesday, September 25, to honour the hard work done by its handy helpers.
The event paid tribute to the dedication of library volunteers, particularly during the Summer Reading Challenge.
“Thanks to them we provide a much-needed home library service, regular craft sessions and also receive invaluable in-branch support,” a Bordon Library spokesman told the Bordon Herald.
“Without them our Summer Reading Challenge could not have been the amazing success it proved to be this year.
“We receive around 20 hours of volunteer support every week, from a diverse group of people of all ages and backgrounds. We are very lucky to have them. One of our volunteers said that working at the library is like being part of a family.
“Another thanked the staff for always being so friendly and supportive. We always welcome applications from new volunteers, if anyone is interested, please pop into the library and have a chat.”
