HEADLEY girl Maia Daborn has become the youngest level-one archery coach in the UK.

Maia, 15, who lives in Headley and is a pupil at Liphook’s Bohunt School, completed the practical assessment and exam on April 17 following a training course that started in December.

The teenager will use her coaching skills to run beginners’ courses and assist members at the Whitehill Archers where she has been a member since she was 10.

This latest success for Maia (pictured) follows her solid performance in 2015, when she became the double national barebow champion, county champion, county Clout champion and achieved second place in the National Clout Championships, all in the under-16 junior lady categories.

Maia also holds six national and 28 county records and is currently third in the county record table across all age groups. Maia represents Hampshire in their county archery team and has done so since 2011.
