Eight-year-old Martha from Haslemere is set to take on a remarkable challenge in support of a charity close to her heart.

She has decided to swim an impressive 2km to raise funds for PSDS, a charity that supports children with Down’s Syndrome and their families.

Martha’s younger brother Barnaby has Down’s Syndrome, and it is through him that she became aware of the fantastic work of PSDS.

And she is no stranger to swimming, having already swum 1km in the past. However, swimming 2km is a whole new challenge.

Despite this, Martha is determined to complete her sponsored swim to raise as much money as she can for PSDS.

“I love my brother so much and I want to help PSDS support other children with Down’s Syndrome and their families,” she said.

“I hope lots of people will support me and help me raise lots of money for this amazing charity.”
