THE Three Bridges Project, opened by Whitehill mayor Bill Wain, is the last phase in the Access to the Countryside project which has created a 38-hectare "green lung" on the town's eastern urban fringe.

Dr Wain, chairman of the Deadwater Trust, was joined by Hampshire county councillor Ray Ellis, plus district and town councillors, trustees of the Deadwater Valley and members of the Wednesday Walkers Friends of the Deadwater fitness group (pictured).
