WHITEHILL mayor David Cooper, accompanied by his wife and mayoress Cynthia Cooper, officially opened Cygnets’ new pre-school at Martinique House in Bordon.

The mayor cut a ribbon at the entrance to the building and wished director Marion Cusworth and her staff future success in their new home. The opening marked the end of the refurbishment of the pre-school’s new base at Martinique House.

The work, which has cost thousands of pounds, was done to create a modern nursery with new furniture and facilities to cater for the two to five age group.

Mrs Cusworth has made the move, after 25 years, from the premises in the grounds of the Scared Heart Church in Bordon High Street, although Cygnets’ full-time day care facility will remain there.

After the opening, Mrs Cusworth thanked the mayor and mayoress and the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company for providing the hall in Martinique House.
