THE founder of the Bordon Liphook Haslemere Charity has been recognised in the New Year Honours list.
Carl Tantum, who stepped down as chairman of the trustees last July, said he was humbled when he found out he had been awarded an MBE.
He said: "I am absolutely astounded. It is such a great honour, not only for me, of course, but for all those associated with the charity - the volunteers, the trustees and the management team.
"It is a recognition of the important work the charity undertakes in the community. It is humbling and just amazing."
