ALTON Model Railway Group is on track to host an open day this weekend.

All things miniature rail will be on show at the 8th Alton Scout Group headquarters in Anstey Park on Sunday, from 10.30am-4pm.

The American section of the club will be demonstrating for the first time, showing new layout Pine Bluffs and Red Dot Mine. With most of the scenery complete, the intention of operating is to find any faults that may arise before attending its first exhibition in October.

The O gauge section members will have their layout Southolt on show, and the club test track will be available for anyone to use, or see a variety of model trains being demonstrated.

“As we have had some enquiries, we are planning to build new layouts in N gauge and OO gauge, so to see what we are all about please pop in and pay us a visit,” said a spokesman.

Admission is free and club members will be on hand to answer questions.
