EAST Hampshire MP Damian Hinds welcomed news that 4,000 business properties in the district will benefit from business rate changes, announced by Chancellor George Osborne in his Autumn Statement.

However, with the announcement comes calls for more to be done in Whitehill and Bordon to stimulate the local economy.

Retail premises, including shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, will receive a business rate discount of up to £1,000 as part of the Government's plans to help local high streets.
