PEOPLE of all ages visited the Hogmoor Inclosure last Monday for the official opening of the new natural play area.

Members of the public, dignitaries and pupils from Bordon Infant School were in attendance and enjoyed the new facilities on one of the hottest days of the year so far. These include a wooden play area, a sandpit, a zip wire and a rope bridge.

Robert Smith, from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (the property arm of the Ministry of Defence) and Matthew Greenhalgh, Bordon Infant School’s headteacher, alongside the Mayor of Whitehill Colin Leach, cut the ribbon and officially opened the play area.

“The transformation of the Hogmoor Inclosure is absolutely fabulous and the hard work that has gone into this play area is very clear,” Mr Smith said. “It is one of the most spectacular open spaces for the Whitehill and Bordon community. A big thank you goes to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Avon Construction, county and town councils, The Phoenix Theatre and the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company.”

The Hogmoor Inclosure is one of two Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspaces created to accommodate the needs of the future increased town population. The other is the Bordon Inclosure.
