LIPHOOK’S neighbourhood development plan was again top of the agenda at this week’s planning meeting.

Bramshott and Liphook parish councillors agreed a diverse group of people will need to be selected as part of the main steering group and any working parties to make sure the community is properly represented.

Council chairman Jane Ives said: “The neighbourhood development plan remains a top priority for the parish council and, as such, I am keen to get a chairman and steering group formally appointed as soon as possible.

“I have met with the volunteers who were previously on the group to thank them for their work and to explain the current position to them and they have all indicated they are keen to remain part of the process.

“The parish council does need to review all volunteers who apply as it is now clear that not everyone was contacted as they should have been.

“We are hoping also to formally appoint a consultant later this week, who will be able to greatly assist us with the expertise we need to move the development plan forward.

“I am really enthusiastic about the neighbourhood development plan as it will allow residents to get involved and have a say in our community. Public events are planned for the future where residents will be able to come along and give their views.

“Once the steering group is formally appointed meetings will commence which will be open to the public so ensuring that the process is as open and transparent as it can be.”

lBramshott and Liphook Parish Council will be holding its annual parish meeting at the Millennium Centre, at 7.30pm, on Monday, March 27, which is open to all.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and meet all parish councillors.
