A NEW captain has begun his reign at Blackmoor Golf Club and his charity of the year named.

The incoming captain Andy Marsh's chosen cause is Challengers - a Guildford-based charity offering disabled children and young people activities in safe, supportive and fun environments.

Other incoming captains included the seniors' captain Ross Sellers, ladies' captain Carol Verrier and juniors' captain Robbie Boxall.

Following the club's annual meeting the previous eve-ning, the captain's drive-In was held on October 11.

In the presence of club president Derek Williams, 14 past captains and members, Mr Marsh drove more than 215 yards down the middle of the first fairway, commemorating his new role.
