Amberleigh Projects, the company behind plans for an 80-bedroom hotel and cycling centre between Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Petersfield, says it is committed to engaging with the public over the propopsals.

The plans for a hotel and cycling centre off the A3 at Buriton were showcased last week at St Peter’s Church Hall in Petersfield.

There was some initial confusion on social media about the project and the company behind it.

But flyers distributed included a phone number and email address to find our more – although the developer behind it was not mentioned by name – and details, images and details of what is proposed was included.

The exhibition last week was well attended and John Bell, director at Amberleigh Projects, said: “We were delighted to see so many people attending our event and providing feedback.

"We feel this project provides a great opportunity to deliver a gateway location to the South Downs, integrate the site within the local community, invest in and benefit the local economy and to build a sustainable and landscape-led scheme.

"We had more than 100 people through the door and it was hugely valuable in getting people’s comments, and to hear the support the project has from many people through the conversations we held.”

The Greenway Park proposals include an 80-bedroom hotel with an accompanying café and cycling centre, located at the foot of the Queen Elizabeth Country Park at the junction of the A3 and Greenway Lane.”
