POUNDSTRETCHER is providing 20 jobs at its new store in the Forest Shopping Centre in Bordon.

The shop opened on October 20 with Whitehill mayor Colin Leach (Cons, Whitehill Deadwater) invited to cut the ribbon.

Additionally, the store will house Poundstretcher’s sister shop, The Pet Hut, which provides discount pet goods.

In a statement, the store said that, “positioned in the heart of the community”, this new branch had recruited “20 new members of staff from the local area” to be part of the Poundstretcher family.

To kick start the grand opening celebrations, the store had more than £3,000 “of giveaways” for the first 205 customers.

The opening also saw an “action-packed fun day”, the store said, offering activities for the whole family.

Area manager Wojciech Pawlowski said: “We are excited to be able to offer the people of Bordon great branded products at amazing prices in our new Poundstretcher store.

“We are also delighted to be providing 20 new jobs to the community.

“We are expecting huge queues, so make sure you’re there early to catch the bargains.”
