CHAWTON Bonfire and Fireworks display will not be returning this year, with organisers blaming a lack of support from the parish council.

It comes after Chawton Parish Council confirmed in July it “has no plans to host a bonfire and firework display this year”.

Organisers of the one-time annual community event said: “We hope this popular event will take place again in the future and we would like to thank you all for support over the years.”
