THE Phoenix Theatre held its first ever GamesFest, drawing in hundreds of guests on, what was described as, “a brilliant” day.
There were approximately 300 people at the event, on Sunday, September 23, which celebrated everything from card games to classic board games.
“Games Quest and Asmodee (both based in Bordon) supported this event, organised by Dom Clarke, of the Beacon Church, in partnership with The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre,” a Phoenix spokesman explained. “Every room, plus the theatre, was buzzing with people of all ages.
“It was a huge success, and one definitely to be repeated. It was wonderful to see so many people, particularly families, so focused and having fun with non-electronic games.
“The monthly games club continues to be popular and has grown even more since this event.”
Proceeds went to disability charity Challengers (based in Guildford), with £122 raised on the day.
