It’s that time of year to sup your pint, tap your feet, and enjoy one of the highlights of Oakhanger’s calendar.
The festival isn’t just about enjoying a drink—it’s all for a good cause, raising funds for the upkeep of the village hall.
Continuing a popular theme from last year, visitors can “tour” the UK through a carefully selected array of beers from every region.
Even those who aren’t keen on beer won’t feel left out, with a selection of wines also on offer. For non-drinkers, there will be an assortment of soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages.
A spokesperson for the event said “All income from fundraising events is ploughed back into the hall to meet the annual running costs or make improvements.
“It is a focal point for the village, offering coffee mornings, activity groups, and annual events, including the traditional May fayre and annual village summer show.”
Friday night will feature food by Elio’s Pizza, while on Saturday the team at The Hanger Freehouse will bring their pub classics to the festival.
Music will also play a central role, with an eclectic mix lined up to suit every taste. Friday night performances include local Alton-based singer-songwriter Andrea Ojano, followed by the ever-popular local favourites, Key Lime Pi, to kick off the weekend in style.
Saturday promises a rare treat with a special appearance from Elvis, before rounding off the evening with The Rattling Catflaps.
Tickets are on sale now at www.oakhangervillagehall.org.uk. Priced at £12.50, each ticket includes a souvenir pint glass and a first pint.
Oakhanger Village Hall, a registered charity, has served this small but vibrant community for over 100 years.
Operating on a not-for-profit basis, it remains a cornerstone of village life, hosting events that bring the community together year after year.
