THE Oakhanger Players invited people to join them “down the rabbit hole” for an event inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic novel Alice in Wonderland.

The group welcomed guests for a Fun in Wonderland event at Oakhanger village hall on February 25, which included a puppet-making workshop, games, a Mad Hatter’s tea party and a performance.

Organiser Chas Byrne said it was “a very colourful” day that proved to be “great fun for actors and participants alike”.

He said feedback had been positive, with one visitor describing it as “a brilliant afternoon”.

“It seemed to go down well with the kids and some great puppets were made as well,” he added.

“I am not sure what the Oakhanger Players will do next but I hope to organise some play readings soon to look at scripts and see what takes people’s fancy.

“Anyone interested in the Oakhanger Players and drama per se can contact me on 01420 489089 as we’d love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in future.”
