CHILDREN from Alton’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Club impressed friends and family recently when they showed off some of their best moves.

The club periodically invites parents to see how the children, aged five-10, have been getting on and last month’s performances, held at St Lawrence Church Hall, were deemed to be another successful showcase.

Coach Jane Avent explained that the club’s popularity is testament to the sport’s growing appeal, spurred on recently by the Olympics. She added that the latest shows earned “lots of praise” from audience members. “And the children thoroughly enjoyed it.”
