A teenager from Petersfield has been arrested following an early morning attack in Portsmouth that left a man fighting for his life.
A 33-year-old man was left with a serious head injury after being attacked on Cosham High Street shortly after midnight on Friday, April 24.
The victim, from Portsmouth, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries with an arrest being made shortly afterwards.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “An investigation has been launched and as part of our enquiries, officers have arrested an 18-year-old man from Petersfield on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
“He remains in police custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
