A community consultation on plans for the next phase of development off Budds Lane is due to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club.
The Pegasus Group, on behalf of a joint venture between Taylor Wimpey and Dorchester, is consulting the community on detailed proposals for new homes, public open space and associated infrastructure at Prince Philip Park.
The plans, which will be on show between 4pm and 8pm, include 190 new homes, consisting of one and two-bedroom apartments, and two and three-bedroom houses. Up to 90 will be affordable housing.
Representatives from the consultant team will be available to discuss the proposals and listen to feedback.
These are the latest houses announced as part of Bordon’s regeneration. A total of 3,350 new homes are in the pipeline for the town, with hundreds scheduled every year until 2030. It follows Quebec Park (100 homes), Louisburg (500 homes), Duke’s Quarter (172 homes), developer ZeroC’s 135 new houses in Station Road and 178 new apartments included in the town-centre application.
Although other developers are involved, the lion’s share of new homes are being built by the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company - a partnership between developers Dorchester and Taylor Wimpey. If all goes according to plan, the Regeneration Company will build 2,400 new homes, most on former garrison land, at Prince Philip Park (these will contribute to the town total of 3,350 by 2030).
East Hampshire District Council granted outline permission for these in 2015 - it was the largest planning application it had ever considered.
