A Hampshire village is preparing to discuss proposals linked to East Hampshire District Council’s emerging local plan, which could see up to 20,000 homes allocated across the district.
Binsted, located between Farnham, Alton and Bordon, has been identified as a possible location for development, with more than 1,500 homes suggested across the wider parish area.
A public meeting has been organised to inform residents about the proposals and to outline potential implications for the parish.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at 7pm at the Wickham Institute, Church Street, Binsted, GU34 4NX.
Representatives from the A31 Alliance, a group that has expressed concerns about elements of the district council’s plans, have been invited to attend.

According to the 2011 Census, Binsted has a population of 1,871. Some residents have raised concerns about the scale of potential development, citing possible impacts on the village’s character, local environment and infrastructure, including roads, schools, GP services and utilities.
