Play time has officially begun at a recreation ground in Liss as the ribbon has been finally cut at a £50,000 attraction.

There were cheers, whoops and smiles when the new play area at West Liss Recreation Ground was formally opened.

Vanessa Rowlands, chair of the South Downs National Park Authority which provided half the funding, was given the honour of cutting the ribbon.

Doug Jones, Hampshire parishes appointee to the SDNPA, and Keith Budden of Liss Parish Council also attended, along with many happy children from Puddleducks of Liss.

The facility was designed and constructed by Natural Playscapes and includes a climbing structure, swings, canopy den and clamber stilts.
