A CHANGE in status has not affected plans to convert a former bank in Petersfield town centre into a police station.

Donna Jones remains keen for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary to move into the former Barclays unit on The Square.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire has been working with the district council to purchase the freehold to the building, which was recently deemed “surplus to requirements” by EHDC along with five other sites.
