A PAIR of suspected burglars were arrested thanks to the help of a quick-thinking resident from Bordon.

Officers responding to calls of a burglary in progress off Farnham Road on October 12 circulated a picture taken by a “very helpful witness” of the van used in the offence.

A team from Waterlooville later spotted the vehicle on the southbound A3 and arrested two males, aged 18 and 19 and both from Havant, on suspicion of burglary and going equipped.

There were no stolen items in the vehicle but police suspected they had been discarded given the time between the burglary and the arrest.

They were later found dumped in a gateway in Liphook and have since been returned to the owner.

The suspects have both been released on bail while enquiries continue.
